Charlie’s work seeks to capture the world as seen through his brightly colored, cartoonish lens. Charlie’s paintings explore a range of pop culture subjects: movie scenes, politicians, musicians, magazine ads, and comic book panels. Each of Charlie’s paintings feature a piece of text related to the image, sometimes describing the image, sometimes based on a related bit of overheard conversation. Charlie’s work portrays a world where colors are bright, guns are golden, animals have attitude problems, and correct spelling is optional.
