“Searching for Home” is the artist’s journey in search of the source of the emotional feeling of home. The exhibit features three series of acrylic and mixed media paintings: Huacas of Peru; Transitions in America; and Costa Rican Landscapes.

The Huaca series incorporates icons of ancient civilizations of Peru – the telluric colors of earthen ceramics, the geometric designs of hand-colored textiles, and the stone blocks of ceremonial centers. Transitions in America symbolizes multiple aspects of migration, such paper boats, butterflies, nests, and four seasons. Landscapes of Costa Rica are scenes describing the artist’s native country with its majestic volcanoes, stylish plantain leaves, and generous nature.
