Eastern Market Art Series & Teachings: Recyclable Print Art with Stacy Lee
Sunday, March 3 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Art is everywhere! Stacy Lee’s inspiration and materials are often spotted on the ground or sidewalks and make their way into her home as art. In this workshop, kids will play with shapes and textures as they make prints with some of Stacy’s “finds,” as well as veggies, fruit and flowers.
After this experience you may find yourself going through life with one eye on the ground, finding your own materials to recycle into future projects!
Stacy is a long-time DC arts advocate who has dedicated her time to support the arts including economic development for a group of Kenyan artists in the Peace Corps and acquiring a Masters degree in arts therapy.
The Eastern Market Art Series & Trainings – EAST – is an ongoing series that brings artists and children (between 6 and 10 years old) together to explore a different craft or medium each month. Each workshop has volunteer opportunities for youth & teens (11 years old and up) to help support the workshop. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Our program is in made possible by the Near Southeast Community Partners and the CSX Mitigation Fund as well as the Capitol Hill Community Foundation.
