Film Screening: The True Cost with Artworks for Freedom

Tuesday, October 10 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

AWF_DC-FINAL_horz-300×139

Join us for a screening of “The True Cost” and discussion of the fast fashion industry – its impact on people and the environment. We will be joined by Ambassador Mark Lagon, an expert on international human rights and human trafficking, and Samir Goswami who regularly consults with public and private actors on fair labor and ethical sourcing practices. This film screening is part of ArtWorks for Freedom‘s Action DC! effort in which artists, arts organizations, service providers, universities, the diplomatic community, local government and advocacy organizations are coming together to amplify our collective voices.

ArtWorks uses the power of art to raise awareness about modern day slavery and human trafficking. Working locally and globally and engaging art in all its forms, it is transforming public perceptions, educating individuals, communities and policy makers, and inspiring action to put an end to modern day slavery.

Hill Center has partnered with Artworks for Freedom to participate in its month-long ACTION DC!

Sponsored by the Capitol Hill Community Foundation
