Please join us at Hill Center on Wednesday, January 11th from 6:30pm-8:30pm for an Opening Reception celebrating our newest 2023 Regional Juried Exhibition. This year’s exhibition features over 110 pieces from 105 different local DMV artists.
This year’s show was juried by Nehemiah Dixon, Senior Director for Programs and Community Engagement at The Phillips Collection. Artists from the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia were invited to submit original hanging work, in any medium, to be considered. Response from the call was significant, with 170 artists submitting over 700 pieces. Dixon selected 113 pieces for the show.
We invite you to this free reception to tour these magnificent pieces created by your community. In an abundance of caution for everyone, we will not be serving refreshments since we cannot be outdoors. Masks will be required for all who enter in an effort to keep everyone healthy, especially after holiday travel.
The entire gallery will be both online and in-person as of January 11th. All art is available for purchase. The exhibition runs January 11-April 16, 2023.
About the Juror: The exhibition was juried by Nehemiah Dixon, Senior Director for Programs and Community Engagement at The Phillips Collection. Dixon has also worked as an independent curator, an art installer for the Smithsonian Institution, and as the art director at Taratibu Youth Association.
