Jewish and Mediterranean Style BBQ Boot Camp with Silver and Sons Barbecue Pit Master Jarrad Silver
Silver and Sons Barbecue draws influences from Jarrad Silver’s Jewish heritage and long experience cooking with Mediterranean flavors for a unique take on traditional American barbecue. Beef, lamb and chicken are sourced from farms that make commitments to responsible practices, seasoned with freshly ground spice blends and smoked with hickory and oak wood that Silver cuts down himself. The menu includes Smoked Eggplant Babaganoush, Shrimp Cocktail and Silver and Sons’s signature Garlic and Ginger Crusted Lamb Shoulder.
In late 2020, after a successful stint as executive chef at downtown D.C.’s beloved Birch and Barley restaurant, and with the hospitality industry turned upside down by the pandemic, Silver stepped away to spend time at home with his family. Silver and Sons BBQ was born of this time in his home kitchen experimenting with flavors he loves. Silver is a D.C. area native, having grown up in the Maryland suburbs, and his culinary education was earned in prominent Washington kitchens.
