The celebrated Cambodian Celestial Dance ensemble is an independent Cambodian performing arts group under the direction of renowned master teacher and Cambodian traditional arts dancer Devi Yim Dos, a graduate of Cambodia’s Royal University of Fine Arts. Their performances feature intricately costumed dancers and music played by a Pinpeat ensemble (recorded). These dances were originally performed to call upon the gods and spirits and express respect to the royal courts and their guests. They capture emotion through body movements, postures, and intricate expressions.

Cambodian dance pieces range from complex dramas of love, magic, and war to pure dance forms from the Khmer culture. Cambodian Celestial Dance’s mission is to preserve, educate, and introduce Cambodian classical dance to a broader audience. The troupe strives to create beauty as they showcase the diversity and richness of Cambodian culture.
