In the first of a two-part Cooking for One series (purchase tickets for one or both classes individually) with Hill Center favorite, Bonnie Benwick, you’ll learn strategies and recipes for prepping healthful meals that work for your lifestyle. A “make one, take one” approach means we’ll assemble and enjoy a communal lunch (in jars!), swap stories, and depart with a to-go meal. These are easy recipes you’ll be happy to turn to at home.
Bring 2 new/clean wide-mouth quart Mason jars with rings and lids. Complimentary beer, wine, and other beverages are included.
Bonnie Benwick worked as a journalist for four decades, much of which was spent at The Washington Post. During her Food section tenure, she wrote the “Dinner in Minutes” column and other recipe-related features, and ran the test kitchen. She edited The Washington Post Cookbook: Readers’ Favorite Recipes (2013). Retired, she is now involved in cookbook production, and was honored to contribute two recipes (Date-Night Pasta and Blood Orange Salsa) to the terrific A Taste of Hill Center (2021). Bonnie has led Hill Center’s annual holiday cookie baking class since 2013.
