EAST Workshop: Monica Cohen Lenoff for Flower Bouquets!

EAST is wrapping the season with a new contributing artist, Monica Cohen Lenoff to share with students the art of large-scale florals! Students will create floral bouquets working on composition, style, shape, and design. Monica brings her skills as an artist and educator to inspire EAST kids to bring flower designs full of life, color, and vibrancy.
Monica is a native New Yorker who most recently found her way back to DC after living in the Midwest and Puerto Rico. She holds degrees in Visual Arts Education and Teaching Students with Disabilities. As an artist and mother, she draws inspiration from the world around her and her personal experiences as a new mom during the pandemic. Using color as a language, she captures emotions and memories that are difficult to express. Monica is influenced by past and present mother artists who have paved the way for women artists to be creative both inside and outside of their homes. Since 2010, she has been teaching art to students of all abilities and recently started teaching at The Phillips Collection, as well as privately in her home studio called The Arts Avenue Club.
