Join us for our last workshop of the season on December 12th with returning EAST artist Lindsay “LA” Johnson for comic book creation! Lindsay will explore the art of comics and how they bring stories to life. Kids will learn the basic building blocks of how to create characters, story arcs, and drawing to create their own personal comic book! We hope to see you for this very special event.
LA Johnson is visual journalist and art director for NPR in Washington, D.C. She firmly believes in the power of art to help humans understand each other a bit more through telling stories and sharing experiences. Previously she was the art director for The Intentional Magazine and she is a founding member of the DC Art Book Collective. She runs a blog about illustration and comics at nprillustration.tumblr.com and frequently teaches classes and lectures to young artists on the power of telling their story visually.
