Family Style Series: Jackfruit Tacos
Tuesday, May 4 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Calling all vegans and vegetarians! In this interactive, virtual cooking class, Marianne Tshihamba serves up dishes inspired by her travels — family style. In this class, Marianne will show us how to prepare jackfruit tacos. Jackfruit has risen in popularity as a trendy “vegetarian meat” in the United States over the past few years. The fleshy fruit has a meat-like texture that makes it the perfect plant-based substitute for pork and other meats. Now you can find canned jackfruit in most grocery stores, but this fruit has been a staple in many Eastern regions. Jackfruit is the national fruit in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. It can be made into a sweet dessert or even a savory curry. It’s more important than ever to sit down with your family and share stories over delicious meals, and Marianne will show you how to accomplish tasty jackfruit tacos in an hour. Here’s to more adventures at home.
An ingredients list and recipe will be sent out before the class. Following the events, all ticket holders will receive a link to a recording of the class.
