Melan is a nomadic & multifaceted artist based in the dmv, bringing a distinct sense of vulnerability and sound curation to alternative R&B. She uses music & sound healing as a form of alchemy to fuel her freedom and spark the same in others.

Although an artist from childhood, Melan only began releasing music consistently since 2020. She has since garnered up to 20K+ monthly listeners on Spotfiy, received a full length writeup in The Washington Post, and cultivated a number of other notable features, playlist placements, and local performances to date. She hopes to continue growing in her musical exploration and self-realization. Notable performances include: Songbyrd, Sofar Sounds, and Eaton DC.

“She blends melodic flows and upbeat instrumentation, creating lush and spacious soundscapes. Her world, sensual and reflective, is for all those still finding their voice and experimenting with their own definition of “cool.” -Briona Butler, The Washington Post

This concert will be a dynamic experience with 3 parts and will last approximately an hour and a half
⭐Opening Act: Magnus Andretti, a local sample-based producer and beat mixer, mostly focusing on hip hop, ‘lofi’, & R&B
⭐20 minutes of sound bowl meditation and words on the power of sound healing with Melan
⭐Melan, performing with band

“Melan’s “Lime Green Feeling” is the perfect summer anthem for the COVID age (it really embraces that desire to get outside, explore, and breathe fresh air). It’s both laid back yet danceable and the video—shot in Rock Creek Park—puts you right in a July mindset.” -Sarah Marloff, Washington City Paper

“Her art might spring a tap into your connection to Gaia, a spiritual, holistic belief about Earth that is central to Melan’s artistic stance.” – Nunar Magazine
