Learn a new technique and create your very own print in this workshop with Christine Vineyard! Students will walk away with basic knowledge and instructions for how to create a linoleum block print from start to finish. By the end of class, students will have a carved block and at least one final print to take home. Students should bring a few images to use as inspiration or may sketch their own designs.
This is an adult art class.
This month-long introduction to block printing class is designed for beginners to those who have some prior knowledge and are looking to expand upon their techniques. We will start with the basics of block printing and work up to a multi color print throughout the course of the month. No materials are needed as everything you need is provided, however if you would like to use a specific color of ink it is suggested that you supply your own (Speedball water resistant block printing ink is recommended). The instructor will provide the following inks: black, red, yellow, and blue.
All materials will be provided:
- Linoleum block
- Carving tools
- Brayers
- Ink
