Master Chef: Taiwanese Cooking with Chef Erik Bruner-Yang SOLD OUT

Influential D.C. chef and restaurateur Erik Bruner-Yang returns to Hill Center to lead a Taiwanese-inspired class celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival or Moon Festival which is observed September 10 and marks the end of the autumn harvest. Erik is a three-time James Beard Foundation award nominee and the chef-owner of Cambodian/Taiwanese influenced Maketto. He is the CEO of Foreign National, a concept development group that curates food and drink, culture and art, and promotes a strong, healthy, and viable community.
In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Erik started a non-profit organization called the Power of 10 Initiative. Over the past year this new initiative has provided over $1.2 million dollars in grants to restaurants all across the United States, and has provided over 350,000 meals to communities in need.
Over the past 10 years, Erik has taught numerous Hill Center cooking classes and contributed several recipes to our cookbook, A Taste of Hill Center, including Sawmlaw M’choo Kroueng (Traditional Cambodian Soup) and Lime-Marinated Fish Salad.
As this class is in-person, we require all attendees to be vaccinated against COVID-19. This class requires at least 6 participants.
