NEW SERIES 🎉: HOUSE CONCERTS AT HILL CENTER (HC@HC)

Ari Voxx is a 2022 Wammie finalist and DC-native who’s been performing and writing music for years. Previously known for her jazz and neo-soul vocals, she now focuses on writing music that is authentically her, transcending genres, with influences like Cocteau Twins, The Cure, Soundgarden, and Imogen Heap. Now featuring her band, The Sad Lads, Ari’s sound is dreamy, indie, and melancholic – expect to feel retro vibes, catchy melodies, smooth, buttery vocals, and emotional lyricism.

Ari is a regular at SoFar Sounds Shows, has opened for touring bands at Songbyrd, performed at Pearl Street Warehouse, and will be joining Hill Center right after her January 2023 residency at DC9.

Performed with a dazzling array of authentic compositions that is entirely her, Ari Voxx shows us her wonderful skillset here with a track that shows us exactly who she is.” -Llewelyn Screen, A&R Factory 2022

At the core of it all, she stays true to herself as a musician, emphasizing on authenticity, complexity, and balance….She hopes that through sharing her own experiences through music, she can help others who are going through the same struggles to feel seen, understood, and heal.” – Ting Lin, DC Music Rocks 2021

Ariana was born and raised in the DC area. Music has always been the love of her life, along with all things retro. She grew up singing along to classic Motown artists like The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Michael Jackson, as well as the smooth jams on her mom’s go-to radio station, Majic 102.3. Ariana began playing classical guitar at a young age, and this opened her up to music theory and songwriting. This experience as well as performing with various choral groups in the DMV area allowed her to become the versatile singer and songwriter she is today.

House Concerts at Hill Center (HC@HC) is a new series premiering in 2023 that features diverse and local DMV singer-songwriters. HC@HC aims to create a cozy, mellow, intimate setting that connects the community with new music and shines light on the wide range of talent that fills our eclectic city. Come into our house for good vibes, excellent tunes, and a drink or cup of tea.
