In this interactive cooking class, Marianne Tshihamba serves up dishes inspired by her travels. Persians have developed a deep love affair with rice that spans centuries. This rice dish, Tachin, combines some of the best flavors, ingredients, and techniques in Persian cooking in one delicious dish! Discover barberries, similar to cranberries, married with saffron-inflected chicken and pistachios in a rice dish fit for a Sultan. Treat yourself to an experience fit for royals!

Marianne Tshihamba has traveled the world pursuing new flavors and demystifying unfamiliar ingredients. Here in the Washington area, she has scouted the countless international grocery stores that stock their shelves with a wide range of products to serve the needs of our diverse community. This class requires at least 6 participants. Participants will be notified if the minimum is not met. Registration will close a couple days before the class so the instructor can shop for the appropriate amount of ingredients.
