Spanish Language Course: Beginners – POSTPONED

During this 8-week course, students will learn to communicate more effectively in Spanish through a focus on enhanced listening, comprehension, speaking, reading and writing skills. The class will be conducted in Spanish in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that will emphasize positive interaction with the teacher and other students, providing a variety of contexts for expanding grammar and vocabulary. The students will be able to see the progress very soon and enjoy the interaction in an intimate class setting of 4 to 12 students. All the materials and exercises will be distributed by the teacher.
Ana Levenson is a Teaching Professor of Spanish at Georgetown University, where she has taught thousands of students since joining the Georgetown faculty in 1999. At the University of Southern California, she pursued her Masters degree with a focus on Spanish Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition.
She is also the author of Gramática española para estudiantes de inglés, a book that helps Spanish speakers learn English grammar, which is used in a number of universities and language programs across the country.
Ana was born in Santa Fe, Argentina and moved to the United States in 1987. She moved to Capitol Hill in 1999, where she lives with her husband and daughter and their Shichon dog named, Usnavi.
This is an 8-week course. In order to offer flexibility, Hill Center offers the option to purchase 4 sessions for $169. This way, you can attend 4 classes over the course of 8 weeks; however, you are responsible for keeping current with the workload. A minimum of 4 students required for this class to occur. Students will be informed if the minimum is not met.
