Monday, April 22, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Supreme Court Justice Stephen G. Breyer

This event is sold out. To be added to the waiting list, please email waitlist@hillcenterdc.org with the name of the event and the number of seats requested. We strongly encourage those without reservations to watch this event via Facebook Live.

Award-winning journalist, political insider and Capitol Hill resident Bill Press sits down for a one-on-one, thought-provoking conversation with Associate Justice Stephen G. Breyer.

Appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court by President Bill Clinton, Justice Breyer outlined his legal theory in his 2005 book, “Active Liberty: Interpreting Our Democratic Constitution,” in which he argues that the judiciary should consider the purpose and consequences of original texts like the Constitution. Fun facts: he was an Eagle Scout and is also fluent in French.

ASL interpretation is available upon request given advanced notice. Scholarship tickets are available, if seats remain. Please email programs@hillcenterdc.orgto submit such requests. If you would like a press pass, please contact Maggie Myszka at maggie@hillcenterdc.org.
