The five Mother Sauces, as dictated by French culinary tradition, are Béchamel, Velouté, Espagnole, Hollandaise and Tomate. If tradition is to be believed, these basic sauces are the essential building blocks for all other sauces from around the world – from sweet to savory. Learning these simple sauces – their ingredients and techniques – will build your confidence in the kitchen and expand your repertoire.

Join us each week for live Zoom classes, on September 14th for Sauce Espagnole, on September 21st for Velouté, on September 28 for Béchamel, on October 5 for Hollandaise, and on October 19 for Sauce Tomate.
