WIFV Filmmakers capture and make history through their powerful storytelling. In this 45th Anniversary Year, WIFV will host four compelling, thought-provoking panels.

Panel #1 – An Attack on Democracy

This panel features directors of groundbreaking films that cover various insights and perspectives of America’s political turmoil and challenge to democracy during the recent past.

RESISTERHOOD (2020) is a film about the power of women, hope and resistance in American politics. After the 2016 elections, we follow six diverse Americans as they fight for social justice on the streets and in the halls of power.

BREAKING THE WEST (2024) is about the ambitious son of a Russian oligarch attempting to become the first Russian pop star to make it big in the West. Just as his dream seems within reach, accusations that he helped Donald Trump win the 2016 presidential election turn his life and dream upside down. Caught in one of the biggest international political scandals of all time, BREAKING THE WEST follows him as he tries to manage his story while protecting his father, their global business empire, and his musical ambitions.

THE SIXTH (2024) is a portrayal of a city and nation under siege, as well as a testament to the importance of truth, told through the eyes of 6 unique individuals whose lives will be forever changed by the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol.
