DESCRIPTION:In-person Register HereWarrior Fusion presents: Warrior Fusion Camp\, an innovative movement-based program blending martial arts\, dance\, and acrobatics into an energetic and confidence-building experience. \nWhat happens when strength\, discipline\, and creativity come together? \nWarrior Fusion introduces students to a unique mix of martial arts techniques\, tumbling\, and choreographed movement. Through guided instruction\, participants build coordination\, flexibility\, and focus while learning dynamic routines that challenge both body and mind. \nAs a specialized youth movement program\, Warrior Fusion focuses on developing resilience\, self-expression\, and teamwork while helping students build both physical strength and mental discipline. Classes are structured to support beginners while still engaging more experienced participants. \nParticipants will gain strength\, confidence\, and performance skills in a high-energy environment. DESCRIPTION:In-person Register Here\n\n\n\nAlice was raised by a family of professional singers and began taking Suzuki piano lessons at age 4. In school\, she joined concert bands playing the French horn and often landed leading roles in musical theater productions at school and in community theaters. Alice studied music at the University of Maryland\, College Park where she served in leadership positions in music honor society Tau Beta Sigma and the Mighty Sound of Maryland Marching Band. Now\, Alice performs and teaches as a professional vocalist\, piano\, trumpet\, and French horn player.\n\n\n\n\n\nAlice wrote original music for\, performed with\, and produced and edited music videos for funk Wammie nominee Strangers That Clique. She currently sings and plays trumpet and keys with award winning musician and climate activist\, Joshua Long\, and she collaborates and performs with Sly on the Bright Side and Dream City Brass. Alice fronts her new band\, The Melting Virgos\, in which she performs her original songs about climate justice and class solidarity.\n\nAlice’s love of music and focus on fun keeps students coming back\, excited to develop their skills. SUMMARY:Tai Chi Chuan
DESCRIPTION:In-person Register HereTai Chi Chuan is a formulated set of movements designed for body and mind. This discipline for health and serenity is also a complete system of self-defense and a martial art that emphasizes sensitivity\, serenity and flexibility. \nOur classes are conducted in a relaxed\, go-at-your-own-pace\, collegial spirit infused with the seriousness that the study of Tai Chi demands. Both beginner and intermediate classes are offered. Intermediate and advanced students learn push hands\, saber\, sword and spear. \nSifu Larry Hawkins\, a practitioner of Tai Chi and other Chinese martial arts for more than 30 years\, is certified to teach Wu Style by the Hong Kong-based International Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan Federation. He studied in China where the Wu family developed the tradition five generations ago and trains annually with Grand Master Wu Kwong Yu in Toronto. \nAll ages are welcome. Classes are conducted Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:15 to 8:15 pm and Saturdays from 9am to 12pm. \n

DESCRIPTION:In-person Register Here“Way of Tradition” Solo Performance & Masterclass \nYogev Shetrit’s solo performance presents original compositions that fuse traditional North African\, Gnawa\, and Andalusian music from his Moroccan heritage with contemporary jazz and Mediterranean influences. Through drums\, rhythm\, and live musical storytelling\, Shetrit creates an intimate and powerful musical experience that connects ancient traditions with modern improvisation. \nHis latest album\, “Way of Tradition\,” was praised by All About Jazz for “keeping its jazz roots while weaving global influences\,” and for blending Moroccan\, Central Asian\, and Mediterranean traditions into a unique and personal musical language. The review highlighted how Shetrit’s music transcends geographical and stylistic boundaries and noted that the drums function not only rhythmically but melodically\, becoming a central voice in the music. \nBefore recording\, the compositions were performed extensively in concerts and festivals worldwide\, where audiences responded warmly to the music’s fresh yet deeply rooted cultural identity\, connecting both to its originality and its traditional influences. \nYogev’s masterclass explores the rich rhythmic traditions of the Middle East\, Morocco\, and the Mediterranean\, and their influence on jazz and contemporary music. Participants learn core rhythm concepts\, how to orchestrate them on different instruments\, and how to integrate them into modern performance. \nThe masterclass is highly participatory with audiences joining through clapping\, body percussion\, call-and-response\, and group rhythm exercises\, creating an engaging and inspiring shared musical experience. \n \nYogev Shetrit is an international composer and drummer\, born in 1978. He earned his BA in Musicology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and was the founder and member of the internationally acclaimed Coolooloosh band. He has performed with notable artists including Chuchito Valdez\, Tia Fuller\, Arnie Lawrence\, Paulo Morello\, and Kevin Mahogany. \nA composer at heart\, Shetrit formed the Yogev Shetrit Trio in 2016 to perform his original music. Since then\, he has performed in over 50 countries at major festivals and prestigious venues including the International Panama Jazz Festival\, The Kennedy Center (Washington\, DC)\, Casa del Jazz (Rome)\, and many others.
