Young artists will learn the art of rolled candle making while exploring storytelling\, pattern\, and personal expression \nUsing sheets of colorful beeswax\, participants will design and roll their own unique candles\, experimenting with layering\, texture\, and shape. Young artists will explore sculpture and texture by creating wall-mounted artworks inspired by winter landscapes\, snow-covered forms\, and imaginative icy environments. \nUsing clay and plaster\, participants will experiment with carving\, layering\, and molding techniques to build dimensional wall sculptures. This workshop encourages creative thinking\, sensory exploration\, and an introduction to sculptural design concepts in a fun\, supportive setting. \nParticipants will: \n\nLearn basic sculpting techniques using clay and plaster\nExplore texture\, form\, and relief sculpture\nCreate a winter-inspired wall sculpture to take home\nBuild confidence working with new materials and tools\n\nAll materials will be provided. No prior experience necessary—just dress to get a little messy and bring your imagination! \n\n\n\n\nInstructor Bio:\nSarah Jones is a self-taught artist with a studio practice in Virginia. From an early age\, she felt a strong connection to the arts and was inspired by her father\, Jerome Jones\, a talented painter. She began her professional career as a pastry chef and earned a degree in business\, continuously weaving those experiences into her artistic practice. Drawing from her culinary background\, she develops unconventional methods and enjoys pushing creative boundaries. Her work is driven by exploration and material experimentation\, with texture and culture influenced by world travel and nature. Sarah is a full-time artist who also leads painting and sculpting workshops and supports organizations creating positive change.
