I am a painter and a printmaker. My work may best be described as narrative portraiture. I am influenced by German Expressionists, American Social Realists, African and Aboriginal artists. My subject matter is inspired by everyday life and current world events. The majority of my work explores emotions ranging from the extremes of joy and loss to the more subtle zones of contentment or restlessness. I surround the figures with texture, pattern and color, creating an observable beauty which supports a complex, intangible feeling.
