Larry O’Reilly – Alien Seedpod

I always like to tell people that this image came from a found (on the street) seedpod not measuring more than two inches in length. Putting it against a dark background,, combined with the natural light, brought out the most amazing discovery….it looked like a creature who had beamed down to earth, The crystalline strands had a gossamer glow, and the “forelimbs” created by the combination of angles and lighting, made it look like it was going to walk away any minute.
This photograph just won a silver award in the “other/macro” category in the Paris Photo Prize (Px3) competition
