Larry O’Reilly – Backyard Blizzard

This shot was a “one of”, literally. As is obvious, a large storm had deposited a hefty amount of snow, but it was also “misty”, with a very thick “feel” by virtue of the light and stillness. This is my back yard. Luckily, I was able to open the back door, take a shot, and close it again. When I saw the shot, the light blue of the birdhouse gave the picture an added dimension of interest, as did some of the vegetation poking through. This photo was recently given an “Honorable Mention” at the Paris Photo Prize (Px3) competition in 2023
