This painting was done after a quick late summer rain just as the sun was setting over the Potomac. This scene recalls the warmth and beauty of that golden hour in late summer and personally reminds me of my youth on Eastern Long Island, when we were young and had little worries other than to enjoy the magic of summer evenings.
