A Statement of Solidarity
We stand in solidarity with those protesting for justice, equality and civil rights. Hill Center joins with the families of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor in sadness and outrage over their deaths and the deaths of countless others who have been needlessly lost.
Feeling sad and outraged is not enough. Words have little meaning when they’re not paired with concrete, consistent and long-term actions. In the past, we’ve striven to create a space to host honest conversations about racism and black history through the channels we have. But we recognize that we have not done enough to speak up, champion and use our platform to amplify the calls for justice.
We’ll be examining all aspects of Hill Center, including programming, events and rentals, and our own staff and board. We’ll ask you what you’d like to see us do. We’re going to keep this conversation and momentum going. This is just the beginning – we will listen, take action, and continue to challenge ourselves.
