Format: Small group (4–5 students), In-person or Virtual
Students in grades 7-12 will be introduced to beginner piano skills, learning to read music, play simple melodies, and develop basic hand coordination. The program will focus on building foundational techniques, such as proper hand positioning, rhythm, and note recognition, while exploring a varied repertoire of music, including popular and classical pieces. This program enhances literacy and critical thinking skills as students interpret musical notation, understand musical structure, and develop the confidence to perform. Students will showcase their progress in a culminating recital for family and friends.
Culminating Performance
Each student will perform 1–2 pieces at a celebratory recital for family and friends, showcasing their progress and musical growth over the 9 weeks.
