EAST WORKSHOP: Candle Making with Miriam Julianna

Sunday, March 1 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Glow, color, and creativity come together in this hands-on EAST Workshop led by multimedia artist Miriam Julianna. Young artists will learn the art of rolled candle making while exploring storytelling, pattern, and personal expression

Using sheets of colorful beeswax, participants will design and roll their own unique candles, experimenting with layering, texture, and shape. Along the way, Miriam will guide students in thinking about how materials can hold stories, memories, and meaning—encouraging imagination and thoughtful making.

Participants will:

  • Learn safe, beginner-friendly rolled candle making techniques
  • Explore color, pattern, and design through hands-on creation
  • Connect artmaking with storytelling and personal expression
  • Take home beautifully crafted candles they created themselves

All materials will be provided. No prior experience is needed—just curiosity and a love of making!
