FROM CHINA TO APPALACHIA and Around the World Featuring Cathy Fink, Marcy Marxer & Chao Tian: Family Fun!
GRAMMY winners Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer are joined by Chinese hammered dulcimer virtuoso Chao Tian in a highly energetic, participatory concert of family fun. Instruments include the Yangqin (dulcimer), banjo, cello-banjo, acoustic & electric guitars and percussion. Their songs will take you from China, to Appalachia, and from the Caribbean to your own rock and roll Air Guitar contest. There’s songs in different languages, American Sign Language and a Crankie! The Crankie (a moving panorama) contains nearly 70 feet of original artwork by Chao Tian that scrolls through scenes from the Chinese song and legend “The White Snake Song.”
Cathy and Marcy bring 50 years of performing for family audiences to the show and in this band, Chao Tian fits right in. Most importantly, be prepared to sing along, follow fun hand motions and enjoy music from around the world and right here!
