Use Hill Center’s Tech for Your Next Event!

Over the last year, Hill Center has had a complete overhaul of its audiovisual equipment! Long gone are the days of wheeling in a dim projector for your conference; Hill Center now has a 10k laser projector mounted to the ceiling of Abraham Lincoln Hall, its largest room, with a floor-to-ceiling screen to match. Each of its main halls- Abraham Lincoln Hall, John Philip Sousa Hall, and Benjamin Drummond Hall- is equipped with a screen, projector, & sound system that has been used for extravagant birthday bashes,  film screenings, and high-level conferences.

Our Private Events team has had the opportunity to test, troubleshoot, and fine tune the A/V systems to ensure your guests are wowed by the seamless use of tech at your next event. We also have an in-house A/V specialist and sound technician who can tackle everything from mic static to Zoom conferencing. Below is everything you need to know about Hill Center’s A/V systems.

Can I play music at my bridal shower? Or host a slideshow of the maid of honor’s funniest moments?

Yes! Hill Center has both a Bluetooth speaker and in-room sound system that can be connected to your phone, laptop, or tablet! Hill Center provides cords and adapters to make the connection smooth. Send over your fave photos to Hill Center and we can set up an iconic slideshow using one of our in-house laptops.

What if I want to play slideshows with videos for my seminar?

When we attach your slideshow to our A/V system, we can use an additional connection to ensure both audio and video are being projected on screen.

My executive director wants to give a big speech for our stakeholders. How do we make sure it’s heard between rooms?

Our audio system allows us to project sound to up to three rooms- Lincoln Hall, Sousa Hall, and Drummond Hall. If your executive director plans on passing the mic to a board member, our system can project additional microphones throughout the spaces. To take it a step further, we can record and project video of your executive director’s speech between rooms!

I have remote participants who need to Zoom in to our presentations. Can that be done?

A panel with a guest being Zoomed in

Yes! Hill Center has had multiple opportunities to test out our Zoom capabilities. Our team will be able to create a Zoom meeting that allows your remote participants to see and hear in-room participants, be heard themselves over the sound system, and see any content that needs to be shared in Zoom. To take it a step further, Zoom meetings can be recorded locally with Hill Center’s A/V equipment or via Zoom.

We have to record our company doing our annual Cha Cha Slide!

In Abraham Lincoln Hall, there are specialized lights that can provide Key Light, Front Wash Light, and Back Wash Light for the front portion of the room, as well as Side Stage Light for the middle portion of the room. The Back Wash Light can be changed on a color spectrum. Stage Uplights are available to be used in all rooms and can be changed to the color and brightness of your choice.

Help! Something has gone wrong during my event! What should I do?

Hill Center’s staff is here to help! Your on-site point-of-contact will be able to help troubleshoot the problem or contact our A/V specialist for additional assistance.
