The “Kitchen Stills” exhibit features five still life photographs by Rindy Obrien. The stunning images feature the wonderful play of light against a stark black background. The works are inspired by Eva Raup’s paintings. Rindy’s great-grandmother, Ms. Raup painted on black velvet to escape her hard farm life in the late 1800s. Striving to find a more beautiful world, Eva used nature and found objects in her paintings.

Using iPhone 16 Pro filters, Rindy’s photographs highlight fruits and sweets in handmade pottery motivated by simplicity and drawing viewers into the scene with light. The large prints were all created in Rindy’s kitchen.
