Ebru Karayigit – E_Karayigit_An_Aegean_village_2022

An Aegean Village, one of my most cherished paintings, depicts an imaginary village scene inspired by the typical villages along the Aegean coast of Turkey. The primary focus of this painting is the interplay of shadow and light. Instead of relying solely on gray tones, I meticulously alternate the colors of shadows across various surfaces. After completing the painting, I decided to incorporate a cat to infuse the scene with a sense of liveliness, paying homage to the street cats that roam across the country.
