Federica Giove – Queen of Flowers
$700.00
A small frog rests among the petals, a silent guardian of the floral kingdom. Its bright green symbolizes luck, renewal, and transformation. It is the secret heart of the painting-small yet powerful-watching softly as the regal flowers open themselves to the light.

Description
Artist Statement — Federica Giove (P-E-G-U) I am an Italian visual artist currently based in Maryland, and my work explores the intersection of identity, memory, and transformation. Through painting, I investigate the emotional landscape of living between two countries: the deep attachment to my Italian roots and the complex experience of building a new life in the United States. My practice reflects themes of nostalgia, longing, and belonging, capturing the inner space of those who navigate cultural and geographical transitions while trying to preserve a strong sense of origin. My artistic vision is shaped by both the Italian art tradition and my background in design. I studied art from an early age and later trained as a shoe designer, a path that heightened my sensitivity to clean lines, essential forms, and minimalist elegance—qualities inspired in part by the refined aesthetic of Giorgio Armani. Alongside this design influence, the masters who marked my creative journey continue to resonate in my work: the dramatic light of Caravaggio, the symbolic power of Michelangelo and Leonardo, the expressive intensity of Van Gogh, and the visionary surrealism of Frida Kahlo and Salvador Dalí. In my paintings, color and texture become tools to express emotions suspended between two worlds. My palette alternates soft, intimate tones with stronger contrasts, while the compositions evoke memories, places, and fragments of personal history that surface like echoes of my past. Through this visual language, I aim to build a bridge between Italy and America, transforming individual experiences into universal emotional narratives. My artistic research invites viewers to reflect on themes of journey, change, and emotional resilience. I believe art can become a space of genuine connection, where those who observe can recognize themselves in both the delicacy and the strength of shared human experiences.
