Hello! I am Lizzie Brown, a Richmond based artist and owner of From The Core Art Studio. I believe art is a catalyst for change, healing, and conversation. As a universal language it reaches people from all walks of life. With this in mind, I create color-block styled acrylic portraits highlighting the beauty, resilience, and vibrancy of African-American men, women, and children. I aim for my paintings to be accessible to everyone and seek to convey a message of positivity and light in order to uplift communities and individuals who encounter my work. My artwork imagery will translate successfully onto a utility box because of my use of vibrant colors and shape. The compositions of the works also lend themselves to wrapping around three dimensional forms without losing the integrity of the image.
