Marc Roman – Chincoteague #31

$3,200.00

I’ve been taking photos of this building, from different angles and times of day, on Chincoteague Island for years. The building looks nothing like this now, it looks brand new.

Description

I have been creating and painting for thirty years and have worked in landscape, abstract, and text/drawing-driven art. My paintings for the past five years are the result of accumulating thousands of images while traveling the Mid Atlantic and Maine coasts. I made a promise to myself long ago to paint from these images and after working in abstraction for decades, I decided to take that knowledge of color theory and paint handling and apply it to landscapes as I had done 30 years ago before moving to NYC and converting to abstraction. My main inspiration is the clash of light and shadow, color and form, the simple basics of any good artwork. I work to balance abstraction and representation, the paintings as simple as possible in means and application.
