Surya Patil – Broken Time
$995.00
Broken Time’ explores the fragility and fragmentation of human perception as it relates to time. Through a dynamic interplay of texture, color, and form, the painting reflects the tension between continuity and collapse?the struggle to grasp moments that are constantly slipping away. Fragments of clock faces and human silhouettes emerge from swirling, layered strokes.

Description
Art That Tells a Story, One Canvas at a Time Born from a journey of independent practice, my art is a form of storytelling through acrylics—where every brushstroke reveals a narrative layered with texture, color, and emotion. Each painting I create is a chapter in my visual diary, shaped by personal experiences and inner reflections. My work is deeply personal, born from a desire to give form to feelings and ideas that often go unspoken. What begins as private exploration becomes a shared dialogue when someone connects with a piece and says, “That’s exactly how I feel.” Those moments are the most meaningful part of my artistic journey—when emotion transforms into a visual language that resonates beyond words. I am grateful to have received several honors that continue to inspire my creative path, including the Creative Excellence Award in the Artist of the Year contest, an Honorable Mention in the 11th International Artist of the Month competition by the Circle Foundation for the Arts, and being named Runner-up in the 2024 Artist of the Year contest by Artavita and World Wide Art. My work has also been recognized as a Finalist and Honorable Mention in Teravarna’s Artist Competition and as a Finalist in the Art Collide Open Theme Art Competition. Additionally, my paintings have been featured in Spotlight Contemporary Art Magazine, Volume 40, published by the Circle Foundation for the Arts. As a member of the Capitol Hill Art League, my paintings are exhibited at Frame of Mine in Washington, DC, Artworks RVA in Richmond, TAG – The Art Gallery in Frederick, VA, The Parc Gallery (Mosaic Arts) in Leesburg Pike, VA, and the Center for Plastic Surgery in Chevy Chase, MD, Center for Dental Arts, DC. I’m also a proud member of the Northern Virginia Handcrafters Guild, which provides opportunities to showcase my work in their gallery space. In November 2025, I recently exhibited my paintings at the SuperFine Art Fair in Washington, DC. Step into my world—where each painting is a story, a confession, and an invitation to feel, reflect, and connect.
