Vincent C. Brandi I paint the world as I see it. I strive to draw attention to the fleeting natural beauty of the vanishing American Landscape and waterways due to over development and pollution. I applaud all the individuals and organizations who have fought for environmental rights, cleaning and protection of the many areas I depict in my work. I would hope that my paintings will remind audiences how very special our Landscapes and water ways are and pay tribute to all those who work so valiantly in these efforts. I paint these works in multiple layers applying color and texture. I then sand, strip and scrape the painting until it is abstracted, giving the viewer the mystical and haunting beauty found in nature. I particularly enjoy the play of light with Shadows and the subtracted details of the landscape which further recalls the fleeting fragility of nature and creates a feeling of the supernatural. All my work is Oil on Canvas Board or reclaimed board.
