Artist Statement
I do art because I think it’s important to try to understand the world, and this is a part of that process for me. I started the Veteran Residency Program at Kala Art Institute in Berkeley, CA. Art is an important tool to convey stories and share histories. What is more important than showing my work is interacting with other veterans, specifically veteran women, that were moved by the work or had similar experiences.
