ABOUT DANIELLE CARELOCK

Danielle Carelock, originally from Charlotte, received her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Danielle’s work has been shown in several local and national galleries including the Greenhill Center for NC Art, SOCO Gallery, Saltstone Ceramics, and Charlie Cummings Gallery. Danielle has been published in Ceramics Monthly, The Studio Potter, and Contemporary Black American Ceramic Artists, a book set to release in stores nationally in the fall of 2022 by Schiffer Publishing. Danielle has also served on several panels, including ‘Cultural Literacy Embodying the Object’, by the Women Working in Clay Symposium, moderated by Lydia Thompson. Finally, Danielle maintains her studio practice locally in Charlotte and teaches classes at the Little Studio.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Danielle Carelock is a practicing and exhibiting ceramic artist, educator, and writer. Danielle creates functional ceramic art and teaches accessible ceramic workshops across both local and surrounding Charlotte area communities.
