About Gary Lancaster

Army 1958-1968

Gary Lancaster was born and raised in and around Laramie, Wyoming, and joined the Army in 1958 after graduating from high school.  Recognized as an artist in high school, he set aside his art talents to dedicate his time to being a pilot and engineer in the Army and Army National Guard.  After leaving the military, Gary started sitting down to sketch images. Drawing from time to time became a part time habit until early 1970 when Gary enrolled in art instruction school of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Artist Statement

Art is an excellent way to put my thoughts and important views on paper and canvas. I like the mental and physical challenge in pen and ink art.  Thank you so much for viewing my art. I am overwhelmingly grateful!
