Junk Art Club: The Climate Change Project – Skolstrejk för Klimatet
August 2020

Used tea bags emptied of tea leaves, washed, ironed, and sewn together served as the canvas for a watercolor of Greta Thunberg who as a 15-year old started Skolstrejk för Klimatet (school strike for climate) that became an international movement of students who skipped Friday classes to demand action on climate change. Thunberg has spoken before world leaders demanding concrete actions be taken to address climate change. She was the youngest person ever named Time magazine’s Person of the Year in 2019.

Club member Catie Guire painted the watercolor.
