About Kate Waltman
Kate Waltman began assisting an en plein air painter as an elementary school student, developing her love for the natural world and studying plant life. She began working in a production pottery studio as a teenager. Kate went on to earn a BFA in Art and Design from Alfred University and opened her studio in Seagrove, North Carolina in 2010. Kate’s pots are made with local materials, boldly carved with organic patterns inspired by Art Deco design, and fired in a large wood-burning kiln. Kate shows her pots, lectures, and teaches throughout the USA.
