Artist Bio
Ken lives and works in Bethesda, Maryland. Recently, he completed the three year Compass Atelier Master Artist Program in oil painting. In the past year, he has received seven awards for his artworks in five juried exhibitions, including one at the Hill Center. Most recently, he was awarded first place in the 2017 open regional Vessels exhibition of the Capitol Hill Art League. Four of his paintings have been selected by jurors from the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the National Gallery of Art for highly selective exhibits.
Last year, the Park View Gallery at Glen Echo Park had a solo exhibition of a selection of his oil paintings. He has exhibited his works throughout the Washington metropolitan area, including in the Glen Echo Labor Day Show, the Kensington Labor Day Show, the New Masters Art Gallery shows, the Strokes of Genius and Member shows of the Maryland Federation of Art, the Capitol Hill Art League and Hill Center Galleries shows, the Rockville Art League Member show, the Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts show, the Artists and Makers Member Show, the Chevy Chase Women’s Club Show, the Friendship Heights show, the Brookside Gardens shows and several other events. He is an authorized Copyist at the National Gallery of Art.
