Artist Statement

I paint pictures that represent the beauty that surrounds me. I have always enjoyed being outdoors, enjoying nature. I began painting to try to capture the scenery I enjoy so much while kayaking. I enjoyed and collected art by others for years; painting gives me the opportunity to share my own perspective. Art for me is calm, peaceful, and quiet. I love the focus and serenity I find trying to capture a scene that evokes that sense for me. I’m very honored to have this opportunity. I wouldn’t have had the courage to do this without the encouragement of a wonderful friend and mentor. I hope to be that friend for others.
