About Michael Higgs

Veteran – Navy 1965-1969

Michael’s family traveled often during his adolescence and he feels that he became an observer in new situations versus a participant. When he was 5 years old his Grandfather gave him a pocket knife and taught him to whittle.  The idea of making things was passed on to him by his Grandpa and Father as a small boy.

Artist Statement

I am a documentarian of the 21st century. I capture life. Art fulfills whatever I feel is missing. Sometimes life is hard, sometimes art reflects it, changes it, and gives me an opportunity to document what I see. I am absolutely delighted to exhibit my art. As a maker, I make a lot of artwork. I am willing to cooperate with others that have the skill and the will to show artwork. I am so glad I can be part of this event.
