About Mike
Mike Mitchell’s interest in photography dates to his boyhood in suburban Philadelphia, where he first experienced film photography while in grade school. This was followed by photography coursework while in college. Upon retirement as an aerospace industry executive in 2011, Mike began to develop his longstanding interest in photography in earnest. An avid outdoorsman, Mike’s hiking, backpacking, cycling, and cross-country skiing activities have led him to many attractive photography subjects in nature. Travel in recent years to the Caribbean, Cuba, England, France, Ireland, and Italy, as well as throughout the United States, has resulted in a rich portfolio of cultural images, architecture, street photography, vehicles old and new, and abstracts. Mike is a member of the North Bethesda Camera Club where he has participated in club competitions and in the many club field trips. Examples of his photography currently are on display at Kenwood Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland.
