Artist’s Biography

In 1980, Scott S. Warren obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Utah State University, with a major in photography and a minor in art history. In 1978, he took a beginning painting class. Warren began working as a freelance photographer in 1983 and he has continued to do so ever since. While traveling to various places around the world for assignments, he has been inspired by paintings in such museums as the National Gallery and the Phillips Collection in Washington DC, The Baltimore Museum of Art in Baltimore, the Met and MOMA in New York, Centre George Pompidou and Musee d’Orsay in Paris, the Pushkin Fine Art Museum in Moscow and the Hermitage in St. Petersburg. During his travels he has also taken many of the photos that he has used as source material for his paintings. Warren currently lives in Telluride, Colorado.
