About Tati Kaupp
My work, both painting and ceramics, involves the observation of domestic habitats and landscape. I focus on decorative domestic objects, such as pottery forms, and describe their relationships within a landscape or ecosystems. Interior objects and exterior nature commingle in a habitat of my own making. My larger oil paintings suggest playful views and narrative within an abstracted landscape.
My college years were spent in upstate New York studying Fine Arts at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs. Later, I studied at the University of New Mexico, and explored ceramics and furniture making at the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington DC and at Red Dirt Seminar with Margaret Boozer.
