Michael Scaffidi Presents…Back to Wine School: Pour Choices Are Good Choices!

This event has passed
Monthly on Fridays this fall – a part of the Wine Tasting Club with Michael Scaffidi and Wine and Dine Friday’s on the Hill
Remember the fun of going “back to school” — but without the tests or homework? This class brings that spirit to life through wine. Each month, you’ll gather for a guided 60-minute tasting designed to spark curiosity, laughter, and connection over four thoughtfully chosen wines.
Together, you’ll explore two whites and two reds from both Old World and New World regions, learning the fundamentals of tasting, the vocabulary of wine, and the stories behind each bottle. Whether you’re a beginner or an enthusiastic explorer, you’ll walk away with new knowledge, expanded taste memories, and a fresh appreciation for why every pour choice is a good choice.
Come ready to sip, learn, and discover your next favorite wine. No pop quizzes — just pours!
Note: Sommelier Daniel Runnerstrom will be filling in for November and December’s classes.
A wine professional in the DMV for over 10 years, Daniel is one of the co-founders of Maxwell Park, leads the longest running professional blind-tasting group in DC & NOVA, and works full-time in wine distribution and sales with a focus on artisanal producers that have an emphasis on sustainability.
His qualifications include:
WSET Diploma
Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers
Don’t forget to pair with the evening’s cooking class: Eat to Heal: Anti-Inflammatory Cooking Made Simple
